This private club, overlooking Lake Michigan, is built of red brick
and trimmed with Bedford limestone. The copper-faced lounge was
added atop the building in 1953.
The original architect, John Russell Pope (1874-1937), also designed the
Washington D.C. buildings: National Archives, National Gallery of Art,
and the Jefferson Memorial.
