Wells Building
324 E. Wisconsin Ave.
1901

Daniel Wells Jr. was a businessman, judge and U.S. Congressman. When he died a year after the Wells Building was built, he was believed to be the wealthiest man in Wisconsin. The first two floors are primarily copper and glass, while upper floors are terra cotta and brick. The top four floors were stripped of much of their ornamentation due to structural problems.

Now look at the detail of the entrance.
