The oldest bank building in Milwaukee was originally built in
two parts -- the western half was the State Bank of Wisconsin
(1856) and the eastern half was the Bank of Milwaukee (1858).
The Bank of Milwaukee eventually became the
Marine National Exchange Bank (through merger).
