Now used as the Wisconsin Club, it was built by banker Mitchell
in 1855 and modified by architect Edward Townsend Mix in 1873.
It was originally a modest house on a small lot, but became an imposing
mansion with four-story tower after the changes.
There is a
charming gazebo
on the grounds.
He also built the Mitchell Building.
