- 1 lb. chop meat and mushrooms
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1–1 lb. can tomatoes
- 1–6 oz. can tomato paste
- 1/3 cup water
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon basil
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1/2 package lasagne noodles, cooked
- 12 to 16 oz. mozzarella cheese, sliced thin
- Grated Parmesan cheese
- 20 slices American cheese per pan
Sauce: Brown meat and sauté with garlic and onion for about 5 minutes. Add rest of sauce ingredients. Bring to a boil and simmer for 30-45 minutes.
Layering. Sauce, noodles, ricotta or cottage cheese, mozzarella, Parmesan. Repeat.
Bake at 350 degrees for about 50 minutes.
Let stand 10 minutes and slice and serve.
